Peru President, PM work on Cabinet changes

Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski announced he is working with Prime Minister Mercedes Araoz to form a "Reconciliation Cabinet."

The Peruvian leader used a social media platform to indicate further news will be available soon.


On Wednesday, the 79-year-old statesman administered the oath to retired Peruvian National Police General Vicente Romero Fernandez, who has become the new Interior Minister, replacing outgoing official Carlos Basombrio. 

According to the Cabinet chief, the President has ratified her in her post and regrets the resignations of his State ministers.

It must be noted Culture Minister Salvador del Solar confirmed his resignation from the Executive Branch last Wednesday.  

In a message he posted on Twitter, Del Solar thanked Peru's Commander-in-Chief for the opportunity he gave him to serve the country.
