Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra leads the opening of Termochilca Combined Cycle Plant located in Chilca district of Cañete province, south of Lima.
The said plant is capable of recovering the heat contained in exhaust gases that used to escape through a chimney of the simple cycle unit.
Now, the heat produces steam, which is used to power up the steam turbine, thus increasing electricity generation by 50% without using additional gas.
