President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski and Organization of American States (OAS) Secretary-General Luis Almagro on Friday held a meeting to address the preparations for the 8th Summit of the Americas to be held in Lima April 13-14.
Via Twitter, Almagro admitted having a frank conversation with the Head of State on key issues of the regional agenda.
The gathering took place at Lima-based Government Palace's Grau Hall and saw the presence of Peru's Foreign Affairs Minister Cayetana Aljovin and OAS Special Senior Advisor Gustavo Ricardo Cinosi.
It must be noted Almagro's visit happens at a moment when representatives of the region's governments
undertake negotiations in Lima in order to determine the anti-corruption commitments the heads of state and government will adopt at the
Summit of the Americas.
Furthermore, Almagro informed of his meeting with Peruvian Congress Chairman Luis Galarreta.
Both authorities exchanged views on the regional agenda, the Venezuelan crisis, and the Inter-American System.
