Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Tuesday met with King Felipe VI of Spain as part of the Andean Head of State's official visit to the Iberian nation.

The meeting took place at Zarzuela Palace in Madrid.

Peru's top official was joined by Foreign Affairs Minister Ricardo Luna and Peruvian Ambassador to Spain Jose Antonio Garcia Belaunde.

At the same time, Queen Letizia held a meeting with Mr. Kuczynski's wife Nancy Lange.

Previously, the 78-year-old statesman participated in a business meeting organized by the Spanish Confederation of Employers' Organizations (CEOE).

At the site, the Peruvian leader underlined Spanish firms' growing investment in the Andean country, and claimed such trend is fueled by the good economic performance.

Last Monday, Mr. Kuczynski met with Spanish counterpart Mariano Rajoy at Moncloa Palace in Madrid, where they underscored the excellent level of bilateral relations and addressed various subjects of common interest at a working meeting.

Afterwards, the Peruvian Commander-in-Chief took part in the forum "El Peru del Futuro" (Peru of the Future) exploring challenges and opportunities facing the South American nation.

The Head of State seeks to strengthen bilateral ties, find new ways of cooperation and promote investments in the Inca nation during his Spain trip —the first since taking office in July 2016.
