Peru President holds bilateral meetings with LatAm leaders

President Martin Vizcarra began his round of meetings with his Latin American peers early on Friday, within the framework of the 8th Summit of the Americas.


Thus, Peru's top official met with Bolivian counterpart Evo Morales, who highlighted his country's good relations with Peru.


Afterward, Presidents Vizcarra and Luis Guillermo Solis (Costa Rica) joined a gathering to discuss issues of common interest, including the strengthening of democratic governance against corruption.


The Peruvian leader also held a bilateral meeting with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos.

On that occasion, both Heads of State addressed topics such as the organization of the annual Binational Cabinets and expressed their commitment to integration within the Pacific Alliance.


As is known, Mr. Vizcarra held a private meeting with Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez on Thursday.

Other gatherings scheduled for today include those with Presidents Sebastian Piñera (Chile), Jimmy Morales (Guatemala), and Jovenel Moise (Haiti).


It must be noted Mr. Vizcarra also met with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, as part of his activities slated for today. 

The 8th Summit of the Americas will be inaugurated today by President Vizcarra and will run thru April 14.
