Peru President: Gov't to improve economy, population's life quality

11:14 | Lima, May. 28.

President Martin Vizcarra expressed confidence that his administration will improve the national economy and population's life quality thanks to the implemented measures and joint efforts promoted by the Government.

In this sense, the Head of State noted poverty in the Inca country will be reduced next year, as well as the number of those who suffer from anemia.

"Rest assured, we make decisions that will improve the living conditions of all Peruvians. We are sure this administration will lead to economic improvement that will be translated into more jobs," the statesman told America TV channel.

The Peruvian leader also pointed out his administration has several major objectives, which will be achieved with a committed work, honesty, and teamwork.

"This is our second month in office. When we assumed the post, we were clear that we were receiving the post following a severe political crisis, including a divided country, a paralyzed economy, and a State that did not work properly," he highlighted.

According to Mr. Vizcarra, this situation led to poverty growth in the Inca country, so it was necessary to change the way of governing and avoid pursuing a confrontational path.

"We have clear objectives and, just last week, we have issued a supreme decree establishing the general government policy axes," he said.

Said axes are integrity and fight against corruption, institutional strengthening for governance, economic growth, social development, well-being of the population, and decentralization of resources.
