Following the release of official results, Vizcarra expressed his willingness to work side-by-side with Duque and further strengthen the solid friendship ties between the two nations.
The 41-year-old former senator faced off against leftist Gustavo Petro, who acknowledged his loss to his rival.
With 100% of all voting stations counted, conservative Duque won 53.98% of the vote, whereas Gustavo Petro received 41.81%.
