Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra closed the 8th Summit of the Americas on Saturday afternoon, following the approval of the
Lima Commitment —an agreement to face corruption.
According to Vizcarra, he ended the event with the satisfaction of having addressed —with concrete proposals— the demands of people in the Americas.
The Head of State underlined that the two-day
summit has led to a regional alliance against
corruption, which has received a positive response.
Such alliance, he explained, will be based on each government's decision and political will to cooperate and work in the implementation of a preventive and dissuasive approach and a zero tolerance against corrupt acts policy.
Via Twitter, he thanked Heads of State and Government for their firm decision to adopt concrete commitments to prevent and combat corruption.
