The Supreme Pontiff waved as he cruised past the cheering crowds waiting for him along "Papa Francisco (Pope Francis) Avenue," formerly known as "Libertad Avenue" but renamed after the Holy Father.
Arrangements also included a bust of Pope Francis as a reminder of his visit, as well as Pope-inspired flower carpets.
The papal vehicle then drove down Pedro Herrera Street to the district's main square, Pope Francis warmly greeting the thousands of believers all the while.
The Bishop of Rome also imparted a papal blessing to the overjoyed residents, who will never forget the much-awaited visit.
The event was part of Pope Francis' pastoral activities for the third day of his visit to Peru.
