Ancash Police Region on Tuesday confirmed the rescue of three foreign citizens who got lost while trekking Santa Cruz circuit as part of an adventure at Huascaran National Park.
Canadian Jennifer Schurch (24) and two French citizens —one of whom has been identified as Corentin Mentral (25)— were found exhibiting dehydration symptoms in the surroundings of Lake 69.
They were thus immediately transferred to a health center in Huaraz city.
Once recovered, the visitors voluntarily left the hospital to rest at their corresponding hotels.
Huaraz Police Tourism Department and Huascaran National Park mountain security staff were in charge of the search and rescue mission.
The three citizens were reported missing by fellow adventure partners Cloe Bayzelon and Brent Kawamura.
