President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday afternoon administered the oath to Carlos Oliva, who has become the new Economy and Finance Minister of Peru.

He will thus replace David Tuesta, who decided to step down from the post days ago.

Last Monday, the Head of State announced he had accepted Tuesta's resignation.

Sworn in on April 2, the outgoing government official was part of the new administration led by President Vizcarra, who took office on March 23

The swearing-in ceremony was held at Lima-based Government Palace's Golden Hall.
