Emergency —caused by heavy rains, overflowing rivers, landslides and floods— has affected 1,201 districts nationwide, according to the latest National Emergency Operations Center's (COEN) report.
As is known, the Inca nation was at the mercy of "Coastal El Niño" phenomenon in the January-March period.
Among regions, Lima leads the ranking with 143 affected districts, followed by Ancash (141), Huancavelica (92), Ayacucho (92), Arequipa (89), Cajamarca (88), Apurimac (67), La Libertad (65) and Piura (65).
They were followed by Cusco (48), Lambayeque (38), Loreto (38), Ica (37), Huanuco (32), Amazonas (24), Junin (23), Pasco (23), Puno (22), Moquegua (17), Tacna (15), Tumbes (13), Ucayali (11), San Martin (11) and Madre de Dios (7).
