Mining investment in Peru amounted to US$3.731 billion between January and October 2017, thus registering a 9.6% increase over the same period last year, Energy and Mines Ministry (MEM) informed Tuesday.
In this sense, MEM pointed out almost all sub-sectors showed gains in the said period.
Segments such as infrastructure (+37.9%), preparation (+26.9%), and
exploration (+28.7%) stood out in this sense.
Together, they accounted for 74% of the total investment.
"There is an important evolution, which is a clear indicator that
mining investment in the country is entering a recovery phase," Deputy Mines Minister Ricardo Labo expressed.
