Peru's metallic-mining sector expanded 6.9% last June; this was explained by greater production of copper, zinc and molybdenum, the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported Friday.
According to the issuing entity, copper yield expanded 1.7% in June from the same month in 2016.
Meanwhile, national zinc production rose 13.5% underpinned by better performance at
Antamina mine.
Growth was associated with higher zinc prices on the international market, in line with
Glencore plc's policy in South America.
