Peru's Transport and Communications Ministry (MTC) head Bruno Giuffra met with 19 regional governors within the framework of the 5th Executive Branch and Regional Governors Meeting (GORE-Executive) held in Lima.

According to MTC, the meeting focused on the country's reconstruction process and decentralized investment.

The 5th GORE-Executive was opened by Peru's First Vice President Martin Vizcarra and Prime Minister Fernando Zavala on Monday.

The event also featured Comptroller General Nelson Shack, who spoke on fight against corruption.


In the morning, MTC head engaged in private sessions with regional officials from La Libertad, Ayacucho, Tacna, Ucayali, Ica, Tumbes, Puno, Arequipa and Callao.

Similar gatherings were expected in the afternoon, featuring authorities from Amazonas, Ancash, Piura, Apurimac, Huancavelica, Cusco, Huanuco, San Martin, and Lima regions, as well as Lima Metropolitan Area.

Sessions addressed road, port and airport infrastructure needs for each region, including network and telecommunications improvements requested by regional leaders.

In addition to governors' initiatives, meetings featured the Executive's pledge to ensure development in each region.
