Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski has determined to provide aid to northern San Martin region inhabitants affected by floods, following heavy rains in Picota province.
Via Twitter, the 79-year-old statesman said he has told Defense Ministry officials to lead support activities required in the stricken area —located around 800 kilometers northeast of Lima.
As is known, rains in Picota province have caused rivers to overflow, which was detrimental to locals in Tres Unidos and Shamboyacu districts.
According to National Civil Defense Institute (Indeci), floods have left 203 families heavily affected, 193 partially affected and 3 injured so far.
