Peru's total exports volume grew 31.5% in June 2017 over the same month last year, National of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) reported.
According to INEI, growth was underpinned by greater traditional (33.6%) and non-traditional (25.1%) shipments.
Top destinations were China (31.9%), followed by United States (9.9%), South Korea (7.6), Brazil (7.4%), Spain (5%) and India (4.2%)
During the first six-month period of 2017, total exports volume experienced an 18% increase.
Rise was supported by higher traditional shipments from fishery (108%), petroleum-natural gas (49.6%), agriculture (15.4%) and mining (12.2%) sectors.
Traditional exports
INEI announced traditional exports volume increased 33.6% last June from the same month in 2016.
Positive results were also driven by greater foreign sales from fishery (662.2%), agriculture (31%), mining (24%), as well as petroleum and natural gas (31.9%) sectors.
Fishmeal (892.6%), crude oil (143.7%) fish oil (104.7%), natural gas (68.5%), zinc (41.4%), copper (41.2%) and petroleum derivatives (13%) stood out in the analyzed period.
Non-traditional products
Real non-traditional exports volume expanded 25.1% in June, over its similar in 2016.
Growth was underpinned by higher shipments from fishing (176.4%), non-metallic mining (24.9%), farming (14.7%), metal-mechanic (2.1%), among other sectors.
Within this framework, the issuing entity praised the foreign sales of giant squid and cuttlefish (462.9%), acrylic fabric clothing (128.5%), paprika (30.1%), as well as avocado (21.9%) and other Peruvian products.
