Cusco, Arequipa, Tarapoto, Punta Sal, and Iquitos are the main domestic tourist destinations for Peruvians in the Inca country, Nuevo Mundo Viajes travel agency affirmed Monday.
According to its vacation-retail manager Marisol Chiroque, the increase in Peruvian citizens' purchasing power favors domestic tourism, as well as greater connectivity, and access to credit, among others.
Travel Outlet SIT 2018
Within this framework, the officer said the national and international tourism fair Travel Outlet SIT 2018 will take place in May. Said event facilitates the purchase of tourist packages.
Travel Outlet led to US$4.387 million in deals in 2017. It is expected to expand 3% in 2018.
She also said the number of buyers for this year's edition is expected to climb to 22,000.
"This year, we want to grow 10% in attracting new customers," Chiroque told Andina news agency.
