Parliament's Board of Spokespersons agreed to invite Prime Minister Fernando Zavala to today's plenary session to table a recently-introduced confidence motion on the Cabinet in Congress.
The announcement was made by Congress Chairman Luis Galarreta in a press conference on Thursday morning.
In his speech, Galarreta criticized the chief minister for submitting such motion, describing it as an irresponsible move by the Government.
Zavala has confirmed his attendance at the 4:00 PM session and affirmed he will be joined by his State ministers, as it is a Cabinet matter.
On Wednesday, the Peruvian Government
decided to submit a confidence motion on behalf of its Council of Ministers, following Fuerza Popular party's decision to proceed with a censure motion against Education Minister Marilu Martens.
