The European Union Delegation to Peru on Thursday held a send-off ceremony for the 42 scholarship recipients who will be leaving for the Old Continent to pursue internships, master's degrees and PhDs under Erasmus+ program.

At the event, EU Ambassador to Peru Irene Horejs praised the scholarship holders for joining the program and advised them to make the most of this opportunity for personal growth.

"Leaving the country on a scholarship goes far beyond studying: it involves meeting more people, cultures and realities," the EU official affirmed.

"It is learning to be self-sufficient and being in charge of your life. That will help you grow, as well as improve your skills and knowledge," she added.

Horejs underlined the many advantages of pursuing higher studies in European institutions, which offer a wide range of programs.

"A European degree is a guarantee of top-quality studies. It will give you international academic records which are highly-valued by companies, not to mention many of you will come back having mastered another language," she pointed out.
