Peruvian envoy Maria Eugenia Echeverria Herrera recently presented her credentials to Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, accrediting her as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the European nation.
During the ceremony, held Wednesday at presidential residence Cotroceni Palace in Bucharest, President Iohannis and Ambassador Echeverria highlighted the countries' decades-long bilateral relations.
Likewise, they expressed their mutual interest in further deepening economic and trade ties by promoting interaction between Peruvian and Romanian business guilds, as well as by expanding cooperation in various fields.
The Peruvian diplomat also underlined the 4th Meeting of the Peru-Romania Bilateral Consultation Mechanism, also on Wednesday, in Romania's capital city.
The dialogue featured Peru's Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Ambassador Nestor Popolizio.
