1st Vice-President inaugurates Perumin convention

First Vice-President Martin Vizcarra on Monday inaugurated Perumin 33rd Mining Convention at the National University of Saint Agustin (UNSA) campus in southern city of Arequipa.

At the mining event, seven European Union (EU) countries will introduce their plans to ensure sustainable raw material supply for the decades to come.

In this sense, the foreign bloc will present its "Mineral Development Network Platform (MDNP)," describing the mining relationship linking the EU and Latin America.

At the convention, professionals will be able to share their knowledge on technological advances and experiences, thus contributing to competitiveness and sustainable development of Peru's mining activities.

The meeting will also see the presence of exploration specialists from both blocs, companies (including small- and medium-sized enterprises), universities, geology researchers and other entities related to the mining sector. 

Featuring over 1,400 stands, the event is expected to welcome more than 70,000 attendees.

Likewise, this year's edition sees the participation of 28 countries from around the globe.

About

Perumin has consolidated itself as the most-attended event of its kind thanks to the number of international delegations, government authorities, and range of offer.

Since its creation in 1954, the biennial meeting has worked on technological research promotion, innovation and application.   

The event will run thru September 22.
