Moyobamba's traditional dance, La Pandilla, has entered the Guinness World Records book as the largest Peruvian folk dance in the world.

The dance consisted of 1,585 couples who danced to the rhythm of the popular Amazon music.

The event took place at Moyobamba's main square —founded 400 years ago— and was overseen by Guinness World Record attentive supervisors.

Dancers gave an amazing performance filled with beauty and featuring coordination in every step.

Women and men performed early in the morning accompanied by the musical group Los Amazonicos, whose melodies beckoned everyone to dance.

Afterwards, the population took the streets and headed to the city's hot springs to join the traditional "Blessed Bath" as part of the San Juan Festival —a major event that gathers thousands of people year after year.
