Moody's Investors Service has maintained Peru's credit rating on A3 investment grade with a stable outlook, Peruvian Prime Minister Fernando Zavala announced Wednesday.

"Moody's has reaffirmed Peru's credit rating on A3 with a stable outlook based on the resilience of the economy to face adverse shocks," the also Economy and Finance Minister expressed following a weekly Council of Ministers session.

According to Zavala, this decision —by the international agency— was made in contrast to other regional countries, which have experienced change from stable to negative outlooks.

"This is in line with what we have been highlighting over recent months on the stability of economic matters in Peru," he concluded.

Earlier on Wednesday, the high-ranking official forecast Peru's economy will expand 2.8% in 2017 and 4% in 2018.
