Fight against corruption was one of the topics addressed by Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski and His Holiness Pope Francis at the meeting they held Friday at the Vatican Apostolic Palace.
Plus, they discussed topics linked to climate change, environmental conservation and Peru's political situation.
"We talked about the country's political situation,
fight against corruption and the Pope's mid-January visit to Peru," he expressed.
They even addressed the recent ministerial changes, "and he [the Supreme Pontiff] was very relieved. I told him Peru is a quite diverse, tolerant and deeply religious country with several ethnic groups and cultural traditions," he added.
Moreover, he commented on the gifts he brought for the Pope, including a "varayoc" —an Inca symbol of power— and a portrait of Lady Undoer of Knots.
"It was a very pleasant conversation," he expressed.
