inPERU's investment promotion tour in Madrid and London included meetings with 800 investors, who were told about the different investment opportunities in the Andean nation.

The activities kicked off on Monday, October 30, and concluded yesterday with the traditional London Stock Exchange bell-ringing ceremony held by Peru's Transport and Communications Minister Bruno Giuffra.

The government official was joined by Peruvian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Susana de la Puente, Central Reserve Bank (BCR) Governor Julio Velarde, inPERU President Francis Stenning and business leaders.

While in London, the Peruvian delegation met with over 100 investors interested in the Peruvian market.

They were all welcomed by London Stock Exchange Chief Executive Officer Nikhil Rathi, who noted London market's enthusiasm for opportunities in Peru.

"We've noticed the Peruvian market is open for investment and international trade. Plus, it has grown rapidly and is expected to expand more than 4% next year. This provides a good reference for western markets looking for places to invest," he stated.

Likewise, he said the rapid growth of "green" investments in the world's largest emerging markets gives Peru a great opportunity.
