Economy and Finance Minister Claudia Cooper said the Public Budget for Fiscal Year 2018 will underpin the country's economic recovery and guarantee fiscal sustainability.

In her address to the Parliament, she spoke about the macroeconomic context and fiscal accounts considered when preparing the 2018 Budget.

She believes the favorable external environment is fueling the Andean country's economic rebound through different channels.

Nowadays, she said, global demand acceleration is particularly boosting Peru's non-traditional exports.

Thus, non-traditional exports increased 9.6% between January and September and, consequently, saw the second largest expansion in Latin America.

In particular, some of the fastest growing products were those in the agro-export sector such as avocados, grapes, mangoes, blueberries and non-primary manufacture related products.

Remarks were made at Peru's Congress while supporting the Public Budget for Fiscal Year 2018.
