Peru's leading Amazon rainforest produce trade event Expo Amazonica 2017 will bring together around 40 national and international buyers, plus 70 Peruvian exporters, the Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) informed on Tuesday.

The purpose of these business rounds is to bring Peruvian Amazon products to the international scene, PromPeru added.

International buyers include representatives from France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Exporters representing regions Amazonas, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Huanuco, Junin, Lambayeque, Lima, Loreto, Madre de Dios, Piura, San Martin and Ucayali will gather together in this business conference to be held in Moyobamba (San Martin region) on August 11.
 
In addition to star products coffee and cacao, Expo Amazonica will feature Amazon products like sacha inchi (a.k.a. Inca peanut), camu camu berries, lucuma, maca, quinoa, chia, kiwicha, mango and aguaje. 

These nutrient-rich products will be showcased under PromPeru's Superfoods Peru brand, promoted in international markets since early-2017.   

The event's business roundtable is expected to generate over US$10 million in business deals.  

This year's edition of Expo Amazonica will be inaugurated by PromPeru Export Manager Luis Torres along with regional authorities and guild representatives.

Peru's Expo Amazonica will be hosted simultaneously in Tarapoto and Moyobamba cities (San Martin region) on August 10-13.

The event will feature 400 exhibitors, including associations of producers and artisans, as well as technology and services providers.

Expo Amazonica 2017 is regarded as a regional development platform to boost the Amazon's investment opportunities and sustainable growth.
