Cambridge English Language Assessment has authorized Lima’s High Performance School (COAR) to operate as an internal examination center and provide qualifications for English learners at the COAR network, so that students can get an international English certificate.

There are over 2,800 centers in 130 countries around the world. All of them are inspected by Cambridge English Language Assessment, and meet our high standards.

There are 25 authorized centers in Peru, including Colegio Mayor — COAR Lima, which is authorized to run examinations only for students enrolled at COAR institutions. It is not able to accept entries from candidates who are not their students.

According to Mercedes Muratorio, regional director in the Southern Cone and Andes at Cambridge English Language Assessment, COAR Lima will be authorized to conduct trainings for speaking examiners starting August this year.

Tough training

In order to get this certificate, COAR Lima teachers had to come through a challenging training process that taught them how to apply the Cambridge English Language Assessment procedures.

They have been certified as speaking examiners for Cambridge exams set at Level A2 (Key for Schools), B1 (Preliminary for Schools) and B2 (First for Schools) on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages— CEFR scale and in accordance with the requirements of the British institution.

With this certificate, COAR students will have more opportunities to pursue educational exchange and scholarships abroad.
