According to Ferreyros, Chinese arrivals increased 40% over the past months, equivalent to an average of 40,000 visits per year.

Waiving visa requirements for Chinese nationals entering Peru has been a great move, and working with China's top travel companies proved to be a good choice, too," the government official stated.
The minister admitted Peru-China air connectivity is a bit complicated, but Peru has held talks with China Eastern Airlines —one of the Chinese carriers offering air cargo flights to the Inca nation.
"We want to improve air connectivity. Direct flights will not be available, but we are working with China and Australia to launch codeshare flights, so they can reach Lima," Ferreyros expressed.
