Asia and Oceania represent a major opportunity for Peruvian exports, Universidad Privada del Norte's (UPN) International Business and Management Academic Coordinator Mirko Gonzales stressed on Tuesday.
"Both continents host 60% of the world's population. Thus, we can dynamize our economy by targeting these markets, mainly in the
agricultural sector," he pointed out.
In this sense, the most demanded products in
Asia are avocados, grapes, fresh mangoes, copper, iron, and silver.
In Oceania, asparagus, coffee, and fish oil are very popular, while zinc, lead, and copper are selling well.
Gonzales also noted Asian purchases of Peruvian products exceeded US$13.5 billion between Jan-Oct 2017, being
China the Inca country's main trading partner.
"Such amount accounts for 37% of Peruvian exports," he concluded.
