The Judiciary has requested the United States to extend the extradition of former President Alejandro Toledo for the Southern Interoceanic Highway's Section 4, at the request of the Public Ministry's (Prosecutor's Office) Lava Jato Case Special Prosecution Group.

The request was accepted by Judge Richard Concepcion Carhuancho, according to the document released by the media.

The resolution indicates that active extradition of Toledo Manrique is being requested for the crimes of collusion and money laundering to the detriment of the Peruvian State.

It also specifies that, for these crimes, 24 years and 8 months of imprisonment are being requested for the former president, who is currently held at Barbadillo Prison in Lima's Ate district.

The magistrate has ordered the case file to be submitted to the Supreme Court's Criminal Chamber for it to act within its jurisdiction.

It will also be communicated to the International Judicial Cooperation and Extraditions Unit of the Attorney General's Office.
