The President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, on Tuesday reminded citizens that the life of every Peruvian is very valuable. Therefore, she called on the authorities to be elected in the 2026 elections to ensure continuity of the health projects being carried out by the current government.

The Head of State made these remarks during the ceremony for the renewal and expansion of the Mobile Emergency Care System (SAMU) ambulance fleet, held at the Army facilities in Lima.

There, the top official emphasized that thanks to these new ambulances, response times will be optimized and the efficiency of the pre-hospital care provided by SAMU will improve.

Mrs. Boluarte noted that in such situations time is vital and can mean the difference between life and death.

The top official indicated that the Peruvian State has managed to consolidate five strategic bases of this mobile service in Jesus Maria, El Agustino, San Borja, Chorrillos, and Rimac districts.

Mrs. Boluarte also announced plans to establish a new base in San Juan de Miraflores, a district that has recorded 2,650 emergency calls so far this year.

"With the renewal and expansion of SAMU’s ambulance fleet, we are taking a firm and clear step toward strengthening our response capacity to emergencies and urgent situations in Metropolitan Lima," she expressed.

In that regard, the President stated that protecting the lives of Peruvian citizens is a duty to which everyone must contribute, beyond political affiliations.

"In times when our country is going through an electoral stage, I want to reiterate my message for peace, unity, and the continuity of the projects we are carrying out with effort, investment, and determination—especially in the health sector, which neither has nor should have political colors or flags," she pointed out.

The President called on political parties, candidates, and all Peruvians to turn differences into dialogue, saying that nothing is resolved through violence.

"Let us move forward with hope, peace, and unity, because when we save a life, we also save the dignity and greatness of our Peru," she indicated.
