Peru's Foreign Affairs Ministry has granted a business quality recognition certificate to Raul Mamani, Peruvian coffee farmer who won an international prize for best quality coffee at Global Specialty Coffee Expo 2017 in Seattle, United States of America.

Puno's Decentralized Office (ODE Puno) stressed the importance of such an important award, which proves the quality of Sandia province's coffee.

ODE highlighted Sandia Valley Cooperatives Central (Cecovasa) producers' efforts to promote the coffee on an international scale.

Bestowed by ODE Puno's head, the certificate is a powerful instrument to promote Peruvian coffee —honored in major global markets— through diplomatic missions abroad.

Mamani partnered with Cecovasa and is the beneficiary of Putina Punco Agroforestry Project.

In 2016, the Peruvian farmer ranked second at the 12th National Quality Coffee Competition and was twice national champion (2013 and 2015), which proves his product's quality is outstanding.

It must be noted Cecovasa obtained two international awards for best quality coffee at SCA-2017 fair, overtaking several world producers.

Thanks to the achievement, Cecovasa strengthened its position as Peru's top coffee grower.
