Peru's traditional exports totaled US$3.059 billion in November 2017, a 28.7% increase from the same month the previous year, Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported.
Said increase was mainly underpinned by higher shipments of
copper, zinc, and gold.
Copper (+34.7%), zinc (+34.6%), and gold (+3.8%) stood out in this sense.
Additionally, the shipped volume of
traditional products grew 7.3%, mostly explained by greater foreign sales of
copper (+13.7%), gold (+8.4%), zinc (+4.1%), coffee (+3.4%), and fishmeal (+33.6%).
At the regional level, higher shipments to Asia (+56.1%) —mainly China (+49.6%)—, North America (+26.9%) —the United States (+46.2%)—, and Mercosur (+9.1%) were registered in the analyzed month.
