The Peruvian Government will invest more than S/1 billion (US$305 million) in Huanuco region this year, Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva informed Thursday.
In this sense, the Cabinet chief requested local authorities to join efforts with the purpose of fully implementing said budget.
Within this framework, the high-ranking official indicated
Huanuco's local governments are entitled to receive S/210 million (US$64.26 million).
On the other hand, a total of S/94 (US$28.76 million) will be transferred to the
regional one.
According to the official, the central government will execute an additional S/646 million (about US$197.67 million) for the implementation of major
projects.
Also, the Regional and Local Public Investment Promotion Fund (Foniprel) will invest S/54 million (about US$16.52 million) in the area.
"We commit ourselves to guaranteeing that everything, which had been budgeted for 2018 (…), is fully executed," the Prime Minister pointed out.
Within this framework, he noted these resources must be invested in priority areas in an efficient, quick, and transparent manner.
On the other hand, he highlighted the region managed to reduce
poverty (-20%) and
malnutrition (-15%) rates between 2011 and 2017.
Remarks were made at the closing of the Muni-Executive Power meeting. Said meetings denote cooperation platforms that promote, develop, and strengthen the joint efforts between municipalities and the Executive Branch.
These audiences also reinforce the Inca country's decentralization process and improve the conditions for local governments to develop their initiatives, projects, and policies in favor of the population.
