Peru aroused the interest of attendees to the Adventure Travel World Summit, a conference organized by Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) and held in Salta (Argentina), Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) highlighted.

ATTA is composed of 900 members, among tour operators, mass media, travel agencies and experts in the adventure travel business around the world.

"Every year, our participation is essential for expanding the adventure tourism market in Peru, as this event brings together the leading tour operators from the adventure sector," PromPeru expressed.

It must be noted more than 50% of ATTA's members are based in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, all of them considered priority markets for international tourism promotion.

According to an ATTA study, the adventure tourism industry generates some US$263 billion per year, with an average expenditure per capita of US$2,750 and an average stay of about 8.8 days.

PromPeru's participation included booths and dinner for the operators, specialized media and the Peruvian delegation that joined said event.

Among the participants were important Peruvian firms such as Explorandes, Mountain Lodges of Peru, Condor Travel and Lima Tours, among others.

PromPeru also underlined the Inca nation has been positioning itself as an adventure and nature destination to be visited all year round.

Peru offers a wide variety of scenarios for activities on the coast, mountains, and the jungle.

These are also perfectly complemented by its well-known history, culture, archaeological monuments, like Machu Picchu, or its outstanding gastronomy.
