The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Thursday announced that a bill will be drafted to establish the permanent expulsion of foreign companies involved in acts of corruption, preventing them from operating in Peru again.

Similarly, the Executive Branch will propose banning corrupt Peruvian companies from operating.

"No more impunity, no more pacts of silence. No more companies that have bought governments, nor officials who have sold out. Honest Peruvians will not allow offensive negotiations with the corrupt, nor will they let them escape through complacent agreements. There is no place for thieves or traitors here," she stated in her speech.

The top official specified that the bill will be drafted by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and will ensure that corrupt companies, both national and foreign, cannot continue operating in Peru, even if they attempt to do so under a new name through maneuvers or tricks.

"In this government, corruption is not forgiven; it is punished firmly," Mrs. Boluarte emphasized.

The Head of State asserted that "the era of corruption in Peru must end," with resolve and courage against its legal and media allies.

"Corruption has tainted the institutions that should serve the people and the education of the most disadvantaged, but that era has changed with our government. A dignified country does not bow to corruption; it confronts corruption with determination, courage, and unwavering laws," she said.

Mrs. Boluarte noted that this initiative will also be good news for honest companies investing in Peru, as they have often lost opportunities to others that have fraudulently obtained contracts through corruption.

"I am confident that Congress will prioritize this bill once it is presented. Meanwhile, we continue transforming Peru into not only a country with a better economy but also with better education," she expressed.

Remarks were made during her participation in the inauguration of Educational Institution No. 1190 "Felipe Huaman Poma de Ayala" in Lima's Lurigancho – Chosica district.
