The Government of Peru will give priority to drinking water works in inland regions, said President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski in the forum "Peru of the Future" held by Spanish PRISA Group in Madrid, Spain.

He addressed the forum and stated Peru is a country of opportunities, growth and social change. He also claimed his administration is working to make the State organization more efficient.

His biggest concern has to do with public works aimed at the community, mainly at people in need.

"There are projects underway, but those are not the problem; I am worried about the Chumbivilcas school and drinking water projects. It is a paradox that cities lack drinking water service; that is our priority," he stated.

The Head of State stressed the need to go back to basics and to restructure public administration little by little.

He addressed Spanish entrepreneurs and explained large projects like Peru's Southern Gas Pipeline have been stopped due to corruption involving the Brazilian conglomerate Odebrecht.
