Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski will meet in June with Spanish King Felipe VI and President of the Government Mariano Rajoy, within the framework of his visit to Madrid.

Lawmakers passed a resolution authorizing the trip of the Peruvian leader to France and Spain, where he will participate in a series of official activities.

Mr. Kuczynski will meet academics, politicians and businessmen during his stay in Madrid.

As is known, the 78-year-old statesman held an audience with the Spanish monarch in Colombia, during the 25th Ibero-American Summit in Cartagena in 2016.

The first stop of his June 6-14 journey will be Paris (France), where he is set to participate, as special guest, in the International Economic Forum on Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Peruvian top official will attend the event at the invitation of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), as well as French Minister of Economy and Finance Michel Sapin.

While in Paris, he is expected to meet authorities of the new French government led by Emmanuel Macron.

The resolution bears signatures of Congress Chairwoman Luz Salgado and First Deputy Chairwoman Rosa Bartra; as well as First Vice-President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra, and Prime Minister Fernando Zavala.
