An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale hit Pucallpa, in Peru's eastern Ucayali region on Friday, Peru's Geophysical Institute (IGP) has reported.
The temblor struck at 07:19 (12:19 GMT).
The quake's epicenter was at 37 kilometers (22.9 miles) southeast of Pucallpa with a depth of 164 kilometers (101.9 miles)
According to Civil Defense authorities, no damage or injury has been reported so far from the quake.
Earlier this morning, another earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale jolted Tambo de Mora, a district of the Ica region on the south coast of Peru.
The quake struck at 03:04 (08:04 GMT) and its epicenter was traced to 14 km (8.6 miles) northeast of Tambo de Mora.
Peru is in the "Pacific Ring of Fire," which is the site of 85 percent of global seismic activity.
