Last weekend, the 8th Vintage Festival was a resounding success, bringing together over twenty pisco and wine producers in the Limean province of Barranca who exhibited their best products, reported the Regional Government of Lima.
Lima governor Nelson Chui Mejía asked wine and pisco producers to provide more support in the next edition of Barranca's Vintage Festival.
Accompanied by mayors of Barranca, Romel Ullilen Vega; Pativilca district, Carlos Padua Popayán; and the president of Barranca wine producers, Tito Giraldo, Nelson Chui visited wine and pisco products stands installed at the recreation area of the Centro Poblado de Carretería located in the district of Pativilca.
The festival was filled with traditional dances such as “marinera” and a Paso horse exhibition. The event was promoted by the regional government and organized by the Vine Growers and Wine Producers Association of Pativilca Valley.
On the other hand, Chui Mejia honored a group of women of Barranca province, those members of communal kitchens, the “Vaso de Leche” (Glass of Milk) social program, and coordinators of local committees in the five districts of this province. He also provided educational materials to local children.
