Singapore foreign minister to visit Peru this week

Singapore's Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K Shanmugam will make an official visit to Peru from September 11-13.

During his stay in Lima, capital city of Peru, Shanmugam will call on Peruvian President Ollanta Humala and have meetings with Prime Minister Juan Jimenez Mayor, Minister of Foreign Affairs Eda Rivas and Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism Blanca Magali Silva Velarde-Alvarez.

He will also meet with President of the Congress Fredy Otarola and President of the Congressional Commission on Foreign Affairs Martin Belaunde.

The foreign minister will also speak at a roundtable dialogue on "Singapore-Peru Partnership: Seizing Opportunities in an Uncertain World" to the diplomatic community, business leaders, media representatives and private sector personalities.

Separately, he will meet with Peruvian business leaders and representatives from Singapore companies based in Lima.

He is also scheduled to visit Cusco City, where he will meet Cusco Mayor Luis Florez, Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday.
