Argentine coach Ricardo Gareca would sign a contract renewal with Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF) either on Wednesday or Thursday and thus lead the national team thru 2022.

According to El Comercio newspaper, Gareca's lawyer and manager —Francisco Mario Cupelli— would have reached an agreement with the FPF.

"Legal matters should be clear and accepted. The support from the Board of Directors, the cancellation clause, and the peace of mind for Gareca's technical staff ended up convincing the lawyer," it was told.

Cupelli on Tuesday morning had a meeting with FPF President Edwin Oviedo.

As is known, Tiger Gareca led the national squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia after 36 years.
