12:55 | Callao (Callao region), Apr. 2.
A group of private companies —grouped in the Hombro a Hombro Association— donated more than 1,000 tons of food and cleaning-hygiene items for the most vulnerable populations during the state of national emergency imposed to face the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Ministry of Defense (Mindef) reported on Thursday.
The cabinet member noted that around 25,000 families will receive bags containing oats, cookies, noodles, water, milk, canned chicken, nectar, rice, vegetables, among other foods, in addition to water purifiers, soaps, and other hygiene items.
Martos thanked the aforementioned business association for providing such support and called on all companies to join this solidarity campaign for the benefit of households that are particularly vulnerable to the impact of coronavirus.
Remarks were made after monitoring the preparation of food bags by 60 voluntary military service soldiers of the Peruvian Army at Indeci headquarters in Callao.
