on Wednesday thanked health care workers and citizens for surpassing the 30 million mark of COVID-19 vaccines administered in the country, reaching a record of 8,298,545 doses given in September.
"This achievement was possible thanks to the commitment of health staff and those who chose to get vaccinated with conviction and love for the homeland," he said on social media.
He also thanked the authorities who, since the beginning, kept the vaccination process on track, as well as the great job done by the
Ministry of Health (Minsa) and its recent campaigns to bring more doses to regions and speed up the immunization process in the country.
The Head of State shared a table showing details of the doses administered since February, when 322,529 doses were given.
According to the data, 5,560,689 doses were administered in August —after he took office— whereas 8,298,545 were given in September.
On Tuesday, Minsa reported that 30,191,159 doses had been administered as of October 12 at 6:04 p.m. (local time).
Out of that total, 17,042,305 were given as first dose, while 13,148,854 as second dose, reaching 47% of the target population (people aged over 12).
