The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has extended the powers of the APEC Peru 2024 Presidency Working Group chairman, so that he can sign agreements and grant licenses related to this matter.

To this end, the government agency enacted Ministerial Resolution No. 0837-2023-RE, published in the Official Gazette El Peruano on Thursday.

In turn, this regulation modifies Ministerial Resolution No. 0821-2022, which establishes the powers of the person who chairs the aforementioned working group.

In this sense, it added that the chairman of the 'APEC Peru 2024 Presidency' group may sign management and inter-institutional collaboration and cooperation agreements with public and private entities, national or foreign ones, as well as with international organizations and agencies.

Likewise, he will have the power to grant licenses for the use of the 'APEC Peru 2024' brand. This is registered at the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi).

This ministerial resolution also contains the format that will be used to extend those licenses.
