Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez on Friday emphasized that Peru needs conditions for governability and stability so as to address the main problems affecting its various regions.

"At this time, we need conditions for stability and governance because we have very serious problems to face in Peru, such as the COVID-19 pandemic; the Amazonas (region) earthquake that continues causing terrible damage in the northeastern area of the country; economic reactivation; and various issues essential for the population," Vasquez detailed.

Remarks were made during her participation at the technical roundtable of the 16th GORE-Executive meeting, which took place in La Libertad region with the presence of regional governors and State ministers.

Within this framework, the Cabinet chief said that any type of questioning of the Government should be made through the corresponding channels.

Likewise, the high-ranking official highlighted the willingness for dialogue shown by regional governors, with whom she held a very fruitful meeting last Thursday, thus overcoming inconveniences.

"Despite the fact that yesterday morning we faced inconveniences for holding a meeting, during the afternoon we had a very important meeting, for reflection and readjustment, as well as to propose new objectives for this fundamental space that is the GORE-Executive (mechanism)," she indicated.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister affirmed there is a full willingness of President Pedro Castillo and the cabinet to redress some mistakes; however, that does not imply that antagonistic sectors should use extreme mechanisms to constantly attack this administration."

The GORE-Executive is a technical-political space for dialogue, coordination, and intergovernmental action to reach agreements, as well as implement policies and initiatives in the territories.
