Peruvian wins South American Pokemon GO championship

13:26 | Santiago (Chile) Aug. 19.

Peruvian Sebastian Rodriguez won first place in the premier competitive Pokemon GO league of the South American Championship's Season One.

As Escombraura —Rodriguez's username—, he was invited to compete in Chile along with other 54 contestants who had won their respective regional tournaments in PvP mode.

After a week, eight participants reached the final.

The final was disputed between Rodriguez and Argentinean Masticore15, who is currently ranked first in the world ranking.

It should be noted Rodriguez is the only Peruvian among the 20 top players (17th position).

"I thought it was really amazing. (…) The mood was very good, the rounds were very fluid," he told Andina news agency.

Held last weekend, the championship was organized by Sliph Arena and Pokestgo
