Peruvian judoka wins bronze at Youth Olympic Games

20:10 | Buenos Aires (Argentina), Oct. 11.

Peruvian judoka Noemi Huayhuameza grabbed a bronze medal at the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympic Games in the Mixed Team category.

The 15-year-old sportswoman's squad MIX London —composed of 6 athletes— won her first fight but could not advance to the final.

This victory represents Peru's third judo medal at the international event.

Lesly Cano grabbed gold at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games, while Brillith Gamarra won bronze in the 2014 edition in Nanjing, China.

It should be noted Huayhuameza was trained at the Peruvian Sports Institute's (IPD) Academy —formerly Sports Training Program.

The Academy promotes the development and training of talented athletes through free workshops held at IPD's sports complexes all over the country for 6- to 17-year-olds.
